Getting Listed in the Directory
Will you Accept All Sites?
We accept almost all sites - they just need to be family friendly... we do not accept sites that have messages of hate, racism, illegal activites, or pornography - including soft porn and adult themed party sites that have pictures or links to sites that are not family friendly.
How Long Does it Take to Get Listed
Please allow up to 4 - 7 business days to be approved. But remember, if you have NOT followed the instructions - you won't be approved. We state in several places that you must have a link back to us and you will not be approved until you do.
How do I get Listed?
Getting listed is a two step process:
1. If you are new, be sure to register first by clicking on "Submit a Listing" in the sidebar. You will receive a confirmation email in which you will need to click on the link in the email to activate your account. If you are already a member, and want to add a new site or update your information, log in as a member.
2. Once registered, log into your account with the username and password you chose. Then click on "Submit a Listing" or "Add a Listing". Decide what type of membership listing you want - free, silver or gold. You can compare the memberships to see what you get with each by clicking on the "Compare Memberships" link in the sidebar.
3. Fill out the form with your information. Some items are required (the * ones) and some are optional. Fill out what you want to have shown. Your email will NOT be visible to people, instead people will be able to email you through our system.
4. Once you have you added your listing, you can go in and edit your listing at anytime. When you click on "Home" in the options box, that brings you to the main page of your account. Click on the "View/Edit" link once you are signed into you account.
Please note that our free listings also require a link back to us from the site you are listing with us and your listing will not be approved until we verify your link back to us. You cannot list one website or blog and have the link back to us on a different website/blog. Note: We will not list your site for you. This is a free service and the system is set up for you to list yourself. If you follow all the directions and make sure that everything is filled out the way it should be (according to the directions and also the FAQ's here) your listing will go into the system fine.
Where Do I Get the Codes for Buttons and Links to Moms Network
For free listings, it is required that you have a link back to our directory. You can grab the code for the links here: http://members.momsnetwork.com/memberbuttons.htm
I Have a Company Site and Can't Add a Link Back - How Can I Get Listed?
Unfortunately, many direct sales companies offer company websites that do not allow a consultant to make any changes of their own. This doesn't help a consultant at all to be able to build their business online as they could/should. An important part of having a website is being able to network and market your business in such ways as trading links with other sites, getting listed in directories, creating content of your own or others, offering giveaways and more.
We strongly suggest to ANYONE that only has a company website that does not allow them to make any adds and changes that you open a blog. This will allow you to not only link back to us, but to start getting links back to you also from other networks and sites. Incoming links are VERY important to your sucess online. Blogs are free and most direct sales consultants are opening them so that they can market their business online as they need to. There are many many sites that offer free blogs - and it takes just a few minutes to set one up. Some of the places that offer these are: http://www.momsbuzz.com , http://blogger.com , http://www.blogspot.com and many more. Just do a search for Free Blogs.
If you choose not to open a blog to be able to do link exchanges and the proper online promotion of your business, you can still be listed in our directory - it is a very low cost to upgrade your listing to Silver ($15/yr) or Gold ($25/yr) and you actually receive quite a bit more exposure for that low price. Why do I have to Link Back to You, I Didn't Have to Before.
For more than 10 years we have offered free listings to work at home moms in our directory and we continue to do so. But, we now require a link back to us, as, in reality, that is only fair. We are offering you free advertising with a 15 - 20 word description, contact information for you and a link to your site, and all we ask in exchange is for a small button link back to us or for a simple short text link.
We provide the directory script for you and provide the paid advertising to get people to the directory - and all sites in the directory put links on their sites back to the directory so that everyone helps each other get the exposure.
Types of Memberships
Why are there different memberships and what is the difference between them?
We have three different types of membership listings in our directory: Free, Silver and Gold. You can see the differences betwen the memberships by clicking on the "Compare Memberships" link. We have also described them below:
1. Free: basic text listing in one category and requires a link back to our directory. Your logo is not included, your description is 100 characters and does not include your phone or fax numbers. Your button or banner will not be rotating in the directory and you won't have any product images to show.
2. Silver: enhanched listing that does not require a link back to our directory, includes listing in 2 categories and includes the additional benefits : your logo, 50 additional characters for your description, phone and fax number, button ad rotating in directory, your site listed and rotating as a featured site in the side box of the directory,2 product images and documents. $15.00/year. Payment is accepted through paypal and your listing will be approved once paypal is accepted.
3. Gold: enhanched listing that does not require a link back to our directory, includes listing in 3 categories and includes the additional benefits : your logo, 100 additional characters for your description, phone and fax number, button ad rotating in directory, banner ad rotating on top in directory, your site listed and rotating as a featured site in the side box of the directory,4 product images and documents. $25.00/yr. Payment is accepted through paypal and your listing will be approved once paypal is accepted.
Problems with My Listing/Error Messages
Terminating Location Error?
If you are getting the following error:
Error:Listings may only be entered into terminating locations.
It means you have not selected the specific state you are in. You cannot choose just "United States" for your location, you must choose the state you live in.
I can't click on the "View Website". It won't bring me anywhere
This is for one of 2 reasons.
1. You typed in your URL wrong - log in to make sure you listed it correctly.
2. You are using google toolbar and have the pop up blocker enabled. All links open in new windows to bring you to the website, and google tool bar has bad coding thinking that it is a pop up. Turn off your pop up blocker, or use another one besides google toolbar.
Changing/Adding Information for My Listing
Can I Upgrade from a Free Listing to a Silver or Gold?
Yes - you can upgrade your listing at anytime. Once we accept your paypal payment and the payment clears, your listing will show as a Silver or Gold listing.
How do I Add my Button or Banner?
If you are a silver or gold member, your banner and/or button is allowed to rotate in the directory pages. Just log into your account, and choose the View/Edit link for your listing. Choose the Edit Banners options to upload your banner/button.
How do I Add a Category to My Listing?
If you are a silver or gold member, you can have your site listed in more than one category. Just log into your account, and choose the View/Edit link for your listing. You will have the option there to add a category.
If you have a free listing, follow the above instructions to change your category if you desire to.
I want to change my listing - how do I do that?
If you need to change anything in your listing - name, description etc. just log into your account and choose your listing link to edit it.
